This editorial from Vogue Italia came out a few years ago and I still love it. It was shot by Steven Meisel with Jessica Stam and Karen Elson among the models. Meisel has produced such iconic photographs over the years and he continues to delight and entertain with his beautifully quirky style.
The hot weather is upon us in London and there are a few things I want to do this summer. The first is dive into a beautiful swimming pool. I would also like to attend one of Katherine Elizabeth’s Mad Hatter Couture parties. Katherine is a brilliant milliner whose past commissions include John Galliano, House of Dior, and Asudari runway shows at Paris Fashion Week. Among her clients are Dita Von Teese, Lily Allen, the Soho Dolls, Henry Holland and my favourite, Alexa Chung.
What better way is there than to spend an afternoon sipping cocktails in teacups and enjoying vintage treats while Katherine takes the party through an adventure of couture millinery techniques. You get to create your own millinery masterpiece using the finest ethically sourced feathers, beads, trims, costume jewellery and vintage fabrics. Wonderful! I also love the idea of having Benefit Cosmetic’s make-up artists doing my make-up. It sounds like such a fun and unique way to pamper yourself. I’ll write up a review in due course but in the meantime if you want to check it out then take a look at Katherine’s website.
At the end of this post you will find some photographs from the Mad Hatter Couture parties.
It’s worth going to the Mad Hatter Couture party just for the cupcakes!
